May 17- 18th starting at Upper Greenhorn Park in Yreka
This event has taken place since 1988 and has been put on by the Rotary Club of Yreka and joined by the Jefferson Mountain Bike Association a few years ago. It is a fully supported bicycle tour through northern Siskiyou County and features 8 different routes this year- 5 all pavement and 3 gravel rides. This is a tour- not a race, which has multiple rest stops along each route, sag wagon support to help you if needed, and an end of ride meal at Upper Greenhorn Park in Yreka. Camping is also available Friday and Saturday nights at the park- a special treat that is done only for this event.
On Saturday there are 4 all pavement rides of 21, 40, 67 and 104 miles and a gravel ride of 59 miles. On Sunday there are 2 challenging gravel rides of 39 and 62 miles, and 1 all pavement ride of 35 miles. The routes go various places through Shasta Valley, Scott Valley, and Quartz Valley, with gorgeous views and roads that have little traffic. Some of the routes have great hill climbs!
This event attracts riders from all up and down the West Coast and the Western States. We are expecting about 350 riders this year. We have many local riders as well, who know all these routes and love them, and enjoy riding with others to show off our wonderful part of the world.
Join us for a weekend of great biking fun!
