Francis Lenoard Christ III, 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 12, 2024 in Yreka, California. Frank was the eldest of five sons born to Frank and Delta Christ on June 8, 1946. He grew up in Sausalito, CA and graduated from Tamalpais High School in 1964. Shortly after he graduated from high school, he was drafted into the military. He served in the Army’s 101st Airborne Infantry Division. After completing his time in the military, he married Diane. She was his childhood friend and they reconnected in their late teens/early twenties. Frank and Diane had two living children, a son and daughter. Unfortunately, they lost a daughter at birth. Their family lived in Rohnert Park, California until they moved to Etna. CA in 1983. He made Etna his home for the rest of his life.
Frank had many interests in life. In his earlier years, he and his brother Dennis started an upholstery business. He also worked as a Paramedic/Firefighter and then was promoted to Battalion Chief for the Palo Alto Fire Department. After moving to Etna, he logged, gold mined and worked for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department as a Correctional Officer. His passion was construction. He attained his contractors license and started his own business building homes. He worked as a contractor until Parkinson’s Disease diminished his ability to do the things that he loved.
Frank liked sports, music, loved art and was a talented woodworker. Frank was known for building many beautiful pieces of furniture for family members and friends. His love and talent will live through those pieces, as they are passed down from generation to generation.
Most of all, Frank loved his family and when he wasn’t working, he stayed involved in his children’s lives by coaching their sports teams and helping them with their school projects. After having Grandchildren, he did the same for them.
Frank is loved by so many and will be missed immensely. He is survived by his son Frank (Mary), daughter Tricia, his grandchildren, Parker and Garrett Stewart and Carleigh and Frankie Christ, his brothers Dennis (Kathy), David (Sherri) and Joe (Damaris), his Sister-n-law Sharmel, plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife Diane, daughter(not named), parents Frank and Delta and brother Kenny.
