The Mount Shasta Winter Magic festival brought crowds despite chilly temperatures on November’s final Friday. Visitors enjoyed the parade, horse-drawn wagon rides, craft booths, and appearances by both Santa and the mischievous Grinch, who playfully interacted with attendees.

People need to be on the lookout throughout the south county to watch out for the Grinch who is sometimes accompanied by his oversized friendly dog Max as more of the holiday activities continue.

The next day, the American Legion in McCloud held its Christmas Craft Fair, and the Grinch showed up again to cause havoc and even tried to fight with Santa Claus. He was later seen in the day interfering with the McCloud Chamber of Commerce as they were setting up their Christmas displays.
