Siskiyou Golden Fair Unveils Theme for Historic 100th Anniversary Celebration

YREKA, CA — The Siskiyou Golden Fair is preparing to mark a historic milestone with style, as officials announced the winning theme for their 100th anniversary at the current fairgrounds location. “100 Years Past, Always A Blast,” submitted by Etna resident Bruce Bishop, will serve as the central theme for the 2025 celebration.

The theme selection was made during the 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, November 19th, and will be featured prominently throughout the fair’s advertising, exhibits, awards, and paint fair contest.

“It is a special year for the fairground,” said CEO Cliff Munson, reflecting on the significance of the upcoming centennial. “The fair is 166 years young but has been at 1712 Fairlane Road since 1925.” Munson added thoughtfully, “I can only imagine the memories that have been made on this dirt.”

The 2025 event, scheduled for August 6-10, promises to be a memorable celebration featuring an array of new attractions. Visitors can look forward to The Birdman Show and Animal Cracker Conspiracy, alongside traditional competitive exhibits and the fair’s renowned food offerings.

This milestone year also marks the end of an era, as 2025 will be the final time the fair takes place in August. Following strong community feedback, the fair will transition to the last week of June beginning in 2026, marking a new chapter in the fair’s storied history.

Theme winner Bruce Bishop will receive a complimentary ticket package to the 2025 fair, allowing him to fully experience the celebration his winning entry will help shape.

The Siskiyou Golden Fair stands as one of California’s longest-running agricultural fairs, with a history spanning over 166 years. While the fair’s traditions date back to the 1850s, the current location has served as its home for nearly a century, hosting generations of community gatherings, agricultural celebrations, and family memories.
