Welcome to this week’s edition of “Choices & Consequences,” where poor decisions lead to all-expenses-paid stays at Hotel Cell Block! This week featured:

  • Our “Weekend Warriors”: Four DUI guests learned the hard way that their room service includes a complimentary breath test and a $5,000 surcharge
  • Several “Return Customers” with Failure to Appear warrants discovered that skipping court dates gets you a guaranteed reservation – no points or rewards program needed!
  • A Texas traveler tried the “grab-an-officer’s-gun” challenge. Current status: Extended stay, no early check-out available
  • Multiple guests chose our “Basic Package” (drunk in public), featuring our concrete bed and metal toilet combo suite

During this week, the Siskiyou County jail processed 27 individuals with charges ranging from minor infractions to serious felonies. Over half of the bookings were released within 24 hours. Notable incidents include multiple arrests for driving under the influence, several domestic violence cases, and one arson case. The jail also processed multiple warrant arrests, including several probation violations and failures to appear. Bookings came from various agencies across the county including SCSO, YPD, MSPD, and CHP.
