Gloria June La Mothe, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 in Yreka, California at the age of 92. Born on May 10, 1932 in Redford, Michigan, Gloria lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and love.
Gloria was a passionate advocate for animal welfare and was the proud co-founder (along with Barbara Villarreal) of PURR-ANGELS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spaying, neutering, and vaccinating feral and homeless felines. Her tireless efforts made a significant impact on the lives of countless animals and improved the community she so dearly cared for. In 2018 she was awarded the โYreka Citizen of the Yearโ for her work with PURR-ANGELS!
