Splash & Dash Carwash in Yreka is making a splash with its “School A Rama” fundraiser. The Walmart Center-based business is supporting local education by dedicating each Sunday to a different school.
“We wanted to give back to our community and support local education,” said John Richter, the initiative’s organizer.
The program has been a hit, with bookings through November 10th. Here’s the upcoming schedule:
- September 15: Yreka High School
- September 22: Dunsmuir Schools
- September 29: Scott Valley Unified School District
- October 6: Happy Camp Elementary
- October 13: Weed Elementary
- October 20: Adventist Christian School
- October 27: Montague Schools
- November 10: Weed High School
On each school’s Sunday, Splash & Dash donates a portion of all proceeds, including from monthly members and regular business. “We can wash 1000 cars a day. We’re excited to write big checks to these schools!” Richter said.
Schools are encouraged to promote their day to maximize fundraising. This initiative shows how local businesses can significantly impact education, creating a model for community engagement that benefits everyone.
