Acting Goosenest District Ranger selected for Klamath National Forest

Yreka, Calif., July 11, 2024—Mike Haskell has joined the Klamath National Forest as the Acting District Ranger for the Goosenest Ranger District.

Haskell was born and raised in Siskiyou County. He started his public service career back in 2010 and joined the Forest Service in 2016. “I take pride in establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and the communities I serve,” states Acting District Ranger Haskell. “It is a privilege to be part of the Goosenest Ranger District team, and I look forward to delivering key benefits to the community and visitors to this district.

  2. Mike we would like to meet with you about the proposed recreation area Alder Creek Divide located in the Filson Spring, Height Mt. area.

  3. Mick: we are looking at trying to have a meeting in mid-June with you and Chris about the Alder Creek Divide Recreation project.
    We have an interested person who would like to start the project on a small scale as we discussed at our meeting.
    At present, he has a bid on a small Ski area in Wyoming. He also owns land in the San Bernardino National Forest within the wilderness area.
