Mary Alice Blackwell Obituary
Mary Alice Blackwell, 79, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Yelm, Washington. Mary was born December 3, 1944, in Santa Ana, California to Malcolm and Susan Stewart.
Mary embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending passion for her family, friends, and community. She was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was a welcome face and a bright spot to people running everyday errands in her many years working at local banks.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Dean Blackwell, who she married in 1968 in Yreka, California. In Yreka, they raised their daughters, Tracy Marie O’Brion and Alice Jean “A.J.” Rex. She is survived in life by her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mary will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. Even though her body was battling serious medical issues in recent years, she found a way to stay positive, smile, and laugh. Mary will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate the love she spread at a memorial service held in her honor at Girdner Funeral Chapel in Yreka, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10 a.m.
