Longtime Siskiyou County resident Roy J. McEwen passed away on June 2, 2024 in Weed. He was 86 years old.
Roy was born on December 1, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Roy and Meta McEwen. The family moved to Callahan when Roy was young, and he attended school here. He worked as a logger for many years. He loved the Siskiyou County outdoors. He was a gunsmith and avid hunter. He enjoyed tying flies, and would use them when he would go fishing.
Roy is survived by his two sons, Lance and Zach McEwen, and several grandchildren.
