Position: 32-40 Hour/Week Maintenance Worker

The City of Etna is looking for an experienced maintenance worker that can perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and unskilled work including operation of different equipment. This work includes determining the resources required to complete tasks in the field and carry out those tasks without specific direction or instruction. Engage in maintenance and/or improvements of city streets, storm drains, public buildings, among other public works tasks as required. May also perform similar work functions in public utilities operations if so assigned and needed.

Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of methods, equipment, and tools used in construction and/or maintenance of streets, buildings, and sewer facilities. Ability to keep records and interpret blueprints and sketches. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to layout and direct the work of a crew and establish and maintain effective relationships with city staff.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Three Years of Experience in Public Works or Related Field
- Valid CA Driver’s License
- This Job Requires Heavy Lifting – at least 40 Pounds
