The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office Launches
“Operation Appreciation” Community Event
On Sunday, May 5th, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) will be kicking off Law Enforcement Appreciation week with our first-ever “Operation Appreciation” community event at Yreka High School from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Operation Appreciation was created to provide an opportunity for families and members of the public to learn about and interact with each law enforcement agency in Siskiyou County.
Through demonstrations, skill drills, Q&A opportunities, games, and educational materials, we hope to enhance public understanding around the work and responsibilities of each agency, as well as promote conversation and strengthen relationships within the communities we serve.
Operation Appreciation is free for the public, and any money earned from the sales of artwork, food, or beverages during the event will go directly to the local vendors supplying them. We would also like to express our gratitude to Siskiyou Credit Union and Yreka High School for sponsoring this event, and to the all the law enforcement agencies, along with the College of the Siskiyous Law Enforcement Academy, for their support and participation in the first of what we hope to be many future community events.
