Obituary of Margaret Ann Burns

Margaret Ann Burns: January 9th, 1937 – February 13th, 2024

Margaret Ann Burns, 87, passed away on February 13, 2024 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Ann was the sixth of seven children born to John and Minnie Barandun on January 9, 1937. She grew up in Etna, California, and graduated from Etna High School in 1954. Shortly after she graduated from high school, she met her future husband, Bob Burns, in Yreka, California. They were married in 1955. Ann and Bob had three children, a daughter and two sons. Their family lived in California until they moved to Klamath Falls in 1964. In 1972, Bob passed away, and she never remarried. Ann worked various jobs over the years. In 1991, Ann retired from Oregon Institute of Technology as a secretary in the Maintenance Department. 

Ann had many interests, including researching her family’s genealogy, traveling, studying the bible and maintaining an immaculate yard and home. She had a wealth of information about nutrition and took her health seriously. She loved spending time with her friends and family. She maintained many of her friendships since childhood and loved to help plan and attend her high school reunions. 

Ann will be missed by those that loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Burns, son Gary Burns, son Rob Burns (Dani Fisher), seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ann’s final resting place is at the cemetery in Etna next to her parents. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Patient Assistance Fund, Sky Lakes Medical Center Foundation, 2865 Daggett Ave. Klamath Falls, OR 97601.
