Obituary

Earl Joling Sr., longtime Grenada resident, peacefully left this earth to be with the Lord on November 27, 2023 in Yreka with his family at his bedside. He was 88 years old.

Earl was born on March 24, 1935 in Redlands, California. He was a farmer in Big Springs since 1962, where he operated a successful dairy business and trucking business, Siskiyou Milk Transport, for many years with his family. Earl and his brother Ken owned and operated 3Js Deli & Mini Mart in Grenada for 13+ years. He loved his church family and devoted lots of his time and energy in assisting his church. He had a big personality and generous heart. He was loved so much and will be missed by those that knew him.

Earl leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Bernice Joling (Layfield); children Earl Joling Jr., Michael Joling and Jennifer Scott; stepchildren Kenneth Branch, Judy Laws, Dennis Brown, Margie Bohlier, Sue Wolfe (deceased), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl was one of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Edith Joling, brother Herman Joling, and sister Sharon Buma.
