Elizabeth Ann Mika

Longtime Big Springs resident Elizabeth Ann Mika passed away on November 1, 2023 in Yreka. She was 96 years old.

Elizabeth was born on December 18, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Anthony and Ella Feil, who both had come from Eastern Europe. She became a Californian in 1960, and moved to Big Springs in 1975. She was a tough lady, refusing to bow to grief. Her friends remember her as a fun, nice, generous person.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by four sons, a foster daughter, a sister and two brothers. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jay Mika, grandchildren Glynne (Jeremy) Duncan and Michael (Lorraine) Metz and their families, and a niece, Patti McClellan and family.
