Longtime Yreka resident Darla Dewyn “Dee” Willison passed away on March 18, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was 74 years old.
Dee was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on January 26, 1949. She grew up in Iowa before moving to Southern California. While there, Dee met and later married William Willison Jr. The couple moved to Yreka, where Bill was a truck mechanic. Dee helped with the books for the business while raising her children. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and visiting casinos. She loved working crossword puzzles. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Dee is survived by three children: John Willison and his wife, Jennifer, of Yreka, Deana Truttman and her husband, Gary, of Gold Beach, Oregon, and Cynthia Willison of Chico; a sister, Linda Sather of Littleton, Colorado; and five grandchildren: Joey Truttman, Haley Willison, Dalton Frasier, Chantell Meniketti and her husband Ryan, and Summer Tascione. Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Willison, and two daughters, Joliene Fraser and Christine Tascione.
