We’ve now reinstated the paywall — because in reality, what is $2.50 a month to support independent, community-driven journalism?
We are constantly working to bring more value, more coverage, and more impact — but that takes time, energy, and resources.
The printed newspaper has never fully covered the costs of this business. While it did create some cash flow, true sustainability has always depended on community support. Through our co-publishing agreement with The Epoch Times, they have taken on the financial burden of printing and mailing — saving us valuable time, but at significant cost to them.

We don’t rely on grants or public funding. Everything we do is powered by readers like you. While other rural outlets operate with significant funding, many produce only a fraction of the work and community impact we deliver every day.
