Eastern Christian Supply Company is a retail business that caters mainly to Eastern Orthodox Christians, supplying everything from candles, to incense, to icons, to chalices and patens, to so much more. Founded by Father Ieronymos and Presbytera Mary Zubricky in 1987, it began as a catalog-based mail order company and soon thereafter transitioned into an Internet-based online business. Father David and Presbytera Juliana Cownie acquired the company in 2005, and they, in turn, sold it to us, the nuns of the Convent of Saint Elizabeth the Grand Duchess of Russia, in November of 2021.
When we took over the business, we wanted to make sure that E.C.S. also became a visible part of the City of Etna. With that in mind, we purchased the late Dr. Lloyd Coatney’s old dental office from Dr. Joal Miles because it seemed like the perfect place for us to open a small brick-and-mortar storefront. We offer, in addition to our regular ecclesiastical supplies, a large number of goods of interest to our local neighbors, the residents of Scott Valley, whether they are looking for a gift for someone else or trying to find something special for themselves.

These goods include our very own beeswax candles, made locally at the Convent by one of our nuns, Mother Glykeria. You will also find in our store custom-designed greeting cards and wrapping paper (many of which feature local motifs), as well as original artwork and prints by two more of our nuns, Mother Justina and Mother Barbara. Mother Justina and Mother Barbara also offer print services for your own artwork and photographs.
