In the Lake Siskiyou North Shore incident, after investigation and discussions, the green substance was an approved food-grade coloring used to test storm drains.
An excessive amount was used, which caused the concerning green color. Public Safety is our utmost concern, and maintaining transparency is imperative to the Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services and Environmental Health. Please enjoy the water!
