Siskiyou Golden Fair Seeking New Chief Executive Officer

The Siskiyou Golden Fair is accepting applications for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the 10th District Agricultural Association and oversee operations at the historic fairgrounds in Yreka.

The CEO position carries responsibility for planning and executing the annual Siskiyou Golden Fair along with year-round interim events at the facility on Fairlane Road. The role requires daily on-site leadership and encompasses administration, financial management, strategic planning, marketing, facility development, and community engagement.

Qualified candidates should have general business experience including leadership of diverse teams, experience working with a Board of Directors, and strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in fairs, events, tourism, agriculture, or public-sector environments is preferred.

The position offers a starting salary of $8,889 per month with advancement potential to $10,884 per month. Benefits include CalPERS retirement, health, dental and vision insurance for employee and family, annual leave, holidays, sick leave, life insurance, and a deferred compensation plan.

The fairgrounds property has served Siskiyou County since 1925, when local ranchers and business owners raised funds to purchase the land. The county fair tradition dates back even furtherโ€”the first agricultural show was held in Fort Jones in October 1859.

Applications require a completed State of California Employment Application (STD 678), resume, statement of interest and qualifications addressing four specific questions, and five professional references.

The deadline to apply is February 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Materials can be submitted by mail to Siskiyou Golden Fair, 1712 Fairlane Rd., Yreka, CA 96097, or electronically to [email protected]. Additional information is available at www.sisqfair.com.
