GEORGIA FORESTRY TYPE 3 INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM

Start Date: September 1, 2025
Size: 729 acres
Containment: 97%
Cause: Human
Location: Shasta County
Containment continued to grow to 97% while the acreage is at 729 acres. This is a minor adjustment provided by Resource Advisors on the fire. Rain moved over the fire area yesterday, bringing more moisture and cooling areas of heat well off the fire perimeter. Firefighters continued to bring hoses, tanks, and supplies out of the fire area. Restoration crews and equipment continued to arrive while existing restoration crews continued working.
The Georgia Forestry Commission Incident Management Team has been working with local Forest Management Staff and cooperators to follow the agreed upon Fire Suppression Repair Plan and begin the process of returning management of the fire area back to the local Shasta-Trinity National Forest Management Unit.
