City of Dunsmuir, NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 586
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting held on June 26, 2026, the City Council of the City of Dunsmuir adopted Ordinance No. 586 by a vote of 5-0. Councilmembers Bryan, Clarno, Hubbard, Sebring, and Lucchesi voted “Aye.”
Summary of Ordinance No. 586
Ordinance No. 586 adds Chapter 5.36 to the Dunsmuir Municipal Code establishing a Downtown Entertainment Zone pursuant to California Senate Bill 969. The ordinance authorizes the creation of a designated entertainment zone where patrons may purchase beer and wine from participating licensed businesses for consumption within the designated public area during approved days and hours, subject to state law and local regulations.
The ordinance establishes the boundaries of the Downtown Entertainment Zone, specifies days and hours of operation, identifies permitted alcoholic beverages, requires approved non-glass and non-metal containers, provides for age-identification procedures, requires boundary signage, establishes enforcement provisions, and requires periodic review of the Entertainment Zone to ensure protection of public health and safety.
