OBITUARY: WILLIAM “BILL” ANDERSON TOLBERT

William “Bill” Anderson Tolbert, 70, of Lake Shastina, CA, passed away on 4/16/2026. Bill was born on 1/26/1956 to Charles Leon Tolbert and Viola Andrea Tolbert (nee Anderson) in El Cajon, CA.

Bill grew up in the hills around San Diego. The baby of the family, he was an athlete through and through. He loved nothing better than spending time outdoors, deep sea diving and fishing off California, Indonesia, and other parts of the Pacific Ocean. After retirement, Bill moved to Northern California where he enjoyed his view of Mt. Shasta every morning. In later years, Bill took up singing, performing, and attending concerts at the College of the Siskiyous.

Bill was predeceased by his parents as well as his older sisters Caroline Tolbert Gibson and Lynette Tolbert Russo. Bill is survived by his oldest sister Andrea Tolbert Wakefield, his nieces Elizabeth Wakefield and Sarah Courtney Stieber, his nephews Matthew Tolbert Gibson and Joseph Tolbert Russo, as well as their spouses and children, and his many cousins and friends.
