Speak directly to your elected officials as the City explores solutions to funding essential emergency services. Join the City Council and Police and Fire Department for a face-to-face chat at 5:30pm on May 18th at Mt. Shasta City Park Upper Lodge, 1315 Nixon Rd.

Mount Shasta continues to face a structural budget deficit. While there is no easy solution, the City is committed to addressing root causes. On July 14th, 2025, the City Council adopted a $229,345 budget cut spanning multiple departments. As a result, the City has not been able to fill key Police and Fire Department Positions. The City is now exploring other ways to close the gap between stagnating revenue and the rising cost of core services.

There are many possible avenues to alleviating strain on our first responders. But before any decisions are made, the City Council would like to hear from Mount Shasta residents. This town hall meeting is an opportunity to make your opinion known to your elected officials.

Please join us in considering public safety solutions at 5:30pm on May 18th at Mt. Shasta City Park Upper Lodge, 1315 Nixon Rd.
