SISKIYOU COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WEEKLY BOOKING REPORT: January 26 – February 2, 2026

Publishers Note: All individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges listed are based on booking information provided by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office reported 33 bookings between Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, 2026. Notable arrests included a Yreka man found in possession of a destructive device, short-barreled rifle, shuriken, large capacity magazine, and controlled substances. DUI arrests continued to be prevalent throughout the county, with several occurring on Interstate 5 and local roadways. Multiple individuals were also booked on outstanding warrants, including one man with warrants from both Siskiyou and Tehama counties.

Karl F. Henkel, 32, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 26 by the Sheriff’s Office at the jail lobby on two counts of bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge. Henkel was released the same day. No bail.

Ashley M. Lawhorn, 37, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 26 by CHP on Klamath Road for an outside warrant arrest (misdemeanor) from Modoc County Superior Court. Lawhorn was released the same day on a promise to appear for Modoc County on March 9, 2026. Bail: $25,000.

Sherrill J. Cordes, 62, of Grenada, was booked on Jan. 26 by CHP on an outside warrant arrest (misdemeanor). Cordes was released the same day.

Samuel B. Miller, 31, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 27 by CHP on Maine Street for DUI any drug. Miller was released the same day.

Stephanee M. Meehan, 36, of Citrus Heights, was booked on Jan. 27 by CHP on southbound I-5 near Yreka for driving on a suspended/revoked license (non-DUI related), giving false information to a peace officer, and false identification to a peace officer. Meehan was released the same day.

Derick Howard, 44, of North Highlands, was booked on Jan. 27 by CHP on southbound I-5 near Yreka for giving false information to a peace officer and giving false ID to a peace officer. Howard was released the same day.

Douglas G. Tedford, 60, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 27 by Yreka PD at Raley’s for disorderly conduct (alcohol). Tedford was released Jan. 28.

Roberto Solano, 37, of Happy Camp, was booked on Jan. 27 by Yreka PD on North Street for an outside felony warrant from Yolo County Superior Court and giving false ID to a peace officer. Solano was released Jan. 28.

Keemario J. Magee, 44, of Weed, was booked on Jan. 27 by Weed PD on Siskiyou for two counts of bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge ($20,000 bail each), five counts of fail to appear after written promise ($5,000 bail each), and trespass/destroy standing timber (DA declined to file). Magee remains in custody. Total bail: $65,000.

Victoria J. Lovio, 41, of Mt. Shasta, was booked on Jan. 27 by CHP at Ream Avenue/Old Mill Road for giving false ID to a peace officer, driving on a suspended/revoked license (non-DUI related), giving false information to a peace officer, and probation violation. Lovio was released Jan. 28.

Tamara L. McGiffin, 37, of Hornbrook, was booked on Jan. 27 by the Sheriff’s Office on Main Street for assault on person and battery on person. McGiffin was released Jan. 28.

Dillion S. Balabas, 29, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 28 by the Sheriff’s Office at the jail lobby (turned self in) for failure to appear on written promise. Balabas was released the same day. Bail: $5,000.

Janet E. Monpain, 35, of McCloud, was booked on Jan. 28 by CHP Mt. Shasta on a bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge. Monpain was released Jan. 30. Bail: $20,000.

Garibaldo Osmar, 25, of Sunnyside, WA, was booked on Jan. 28 by the Sheriff’s Office on northbound I-5 at E Ditch Creek for possess marijuana for sale and sell/give/transport marijuana. Osmar was released the same day.

Twell B. Phillips, 43, of Brentwood, was booked on Jan. 28 by the Sheriff’s Office at the sally port for bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge. Phillips remains in custody. No bail.

Mathew J. McNealley Jr., 27, of Weed, was booked on Jan. 28 by Weed PD on N. Weed Blvd. for child endangerment. McNealley was released the same day.

Scott D. Shanda, 38, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 29 by the Sheriff’s Office on S. Main St. for manufacture/sale/possess shuriken, possess firearm without ID mark, manufacture/sale of large capacity magazine, possess destructive device ($25,000 bail), manufacture/import short-barreled rifle, and possess controlled substance. Shanda was released Jan. 30.

Kristopher L. Legan, 46, of Montague, was booked on Jan. 29 by the Sheriff’s Office on southbound SR 263 at Loafer Hill Road for disorderly conduct (alcohol). Legan was released Jan. 30.

Clinton R. Guy Jr., 55, of Happy Camp, was booked on Jan. 29 by the Sheriff’s Office on SR 263 at Loafer Hill Road for two counts of failure to appear on written promise and fail to appear after written promise (Trinity County misdemeanor bench warrant). Guy was released Jan. 30. No bail listed.

John R. Chandler Jr., 66, of Fort Jones, was booked on Jan. 30 by CHP on SR 3 at Mineral Range for DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent. Chandler was released the same day.

Ann R. Flippen, 42, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 30 by the Sheriff’s Office at the jail lobby for petty theft with 2 or more priors (shoplifting). Flippen was released the same day. Bail: $20,000.

Blake M. Madson, 24, of Maple Valley, WA, was booked on Jan. 30 by CHP on southbound I-5 at Louie Road for DUI any drug and possess narcotic controlled substance. Madson was released the same day.

Shanon D. Howard, 57, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 31 by CHP on S. Main Street for DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent. Howard was released the same day.

Joe L. Gonzalez Jr., 71, of Weed, was booked on Jan. 31 by the Sheriff’s Office at the Dunsmuir Chevron for disorderly conduct (intoxicated with drug/alcohol) and possess unlawful paraphernalia. Gonzalez was released the same day.

Mark K. Wilson, 50, of Happy Camp, was booked on Jan. 31 by CHP on southbound I-5 at Hilt Road for DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent. Wilson was released the same day.

Fredrick M. Short, 44, of Montague, was booked on Jan. 31 by the Sheriff’s Office on N. 9th Street for asset forfeiture only. Short was released the same day.

Christopher O. Peterson, 36, of Yreka, was booked on Jan. 31 by Weed PD on Oak Street for trespass (refuse to leave property) and obstruct/resist peace officer. Peterson was released the same day.

Corey S. Hunt, 38, of Woodland, was booked on Feb. 1 by CHP on southbound I-5 for possess unlawful paraphernalia, possess controlled substance while armed with loaded firearm ($25,000 bail), and possess controlled substance. Hunt remains in custody.

Ruby N. Herrera, 41, of Yreka, was booked on Feb. 1 by Yreka PD at Public Health for failure to appear after written promise, possession of drug paraphernalia, and using another’s identity to obtain credit. Herrera was released the same day.

Monty L. Coult Jr., 33, of Yreka, was booked on Feb. 1 by Yreka PD on Main Street for possess unlawful paraphernalia and three counts of fail to appear after written promise. Coult was released the same day.

Michael W. Franco, 45, of Red Bluff, was booked on Feb. 1 by CHP on I-5 for driving when privileges suspended/revoked (DUI), bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge (Tehama County), failure to appear on felony charge ($40,000 bail, Tehama County), and failure to appear on written promise ($7,500 bail, Tehama County). Franco remains in custody.

David O. Bowers, 56, of Yreka (homeless), was booked on Feb. 1 by Yreka PD at the museum for possess controlled substance with 2 or more priors, transport/sell narcotic controlled substance between counties ($5,000 bail), possess/purchase for sale narcotic/controlled substance, transport for sale controlled substance between counties, and possess controlled substance for sale. Bowers remains in custody.

Jamison F. Bible, 43, of Big Springs, was booked on Feb. 1 by Lake Shastina PD on A-12 in Big Springs for bench warrant/failure to appear on felony charge. Bible remains in custody. Bail: $40,000.

Katrina L. Garcia, 28, of Montague, was booked on Feb. 1 by the Sheriff’s Office in Montague for driving when privileges suspended/revoked (DUI), possess unlawful paraphernalia, and failure to appear on written promise. Garcia was released Feb. 2.

Melissa A. Jauregui, 41, of McCloud, was booked on Feb. 2 by CHP at Lake and Morgan streets for DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent. Jauregui was released the same day.
