WINTER STORM WARNING: Heavy Snow, 60 MPH Winds to Hit Siskiyou County Elevations Above 5,000 Feet

Etna Summit, Mt. Shasta Ski Park, Bunny Flat Among Affected Areas

SISKIYOU COUNTY โ€” The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Winter Storm Warning for elevations above 5,000 feet in Siskiyou County, effective from 4 PM Saturday through 4 PM Sunday.

Forecasters predict heavy snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches across higher elevations, with 18 to 24 inches possible on the highest peaks and ridgelines. Wind gusts reaching 60 mph over exposed terrain could create dangerous whiteout conditions and downed tree limbs.

  • Etna Summit on Sawyers Bar Road (5,950 ft)
  • Mt. Shasta Ski Park Highway (5,462 ft)
  • Bunny Flat on Everitt Memorial Highway (6,900 ft)
  • Grass Lake at Mt. Hebron (5,291 ft)

Impacts & Travel Advisory:

Travel may become very difficult to impossible in affected areas. The combination of heavy snow and high winds poses significant hazards. Residents should prepare for potential power outages and hazardous driving conditions.
