The State Water Resources Control Board is urging Scott River watershed water users to conserve and coordinate diversions as flows decline toward the 150 cubic feet per second minimum requirement.
As of noon today(DEC. 8th 2025), the Fort Jones USGS gage showed 162 cfsโdown roughly 6 cfs per day over the past 10 days. With minimal precipitation forecast and above-average temperatures expected, flows may soon fall below the threshold.
The Water Board says voluntary coordination could delay or prevent mandatory curtailments, which would require water rights holders to stop diversions in order of priority. The minimum increases to 200 cfs in January.
Current flows can be tracked at the Fort Jones USGS gage.
