SALMON RIVER, CA—A routine drive on Salmon River Road took a dramatic turn for one driver Monday afternoon when their truck and trailer, carrying a 10×10 shipping container, became partially lodged in a ravine. The incident, which occurred approximately seven miles from State Route 96, resulted in a temporary traffic hazard but thankfully, no injuries.
According to a California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident report, the ordeal began around 4:13 PM when a federal employee came across the scene. The individual reported a “semi” truck hauling a shipping container that was “partially over the edge.” The vehicle was later identified as a Dodge 3500 pickup truck, not a semi as initially thought.
