The Weed Cougar’s football team took on our rivals, the Mount Shasta Bears, in the Black Butte Bowl. It was a tough game, and unfortunately, we had some very bad injuries. As an update, the athletes are going to be okay โ and at the end of the day, thatโs what matters most.
This week has been heavy, not only in our own lives, but for our country. One moment that stood out above all was at the very start of the game. Players and coaches from both sides came together on the field, taking a moment of silence to honor the tragic events our country faced and remembered this week. It was a powerful reminder of compassion and understanding.
Though we didnโt bring home the trophy, we are proud of our Weed Cougars. Their camaraderie, strength, and unity as a team are things we cannot put into words.
Proud to be a Cougar.
