The 11th annual Motor the Mountain Car Show brought over 130 entries to McCloud on Saturday despite the threat of rain. This year was the best attended show yet, filling up the lawn in Hoo Hoo Park with classic, old, new, foreign, rebuilt, and original vehicles of all colors and types, kept company by over a dozen local vendors. Local musician Mike Ehlers contributed live music to the event, and a pancake breakfast was provided by the McCloud Fireman’s Association, who were also selling tickets for the McCloud Fireman’s Ball in October. Lunch was hosted by the McCloud Community Resource Center. The American Legion Cheula Post 92, the Humane Society, and the Rescue Ranch were also manning booths for the event.

The Best in Class judges were Ray Nicholas (who presented the awards), Rod and Brian Thomas, and Mike Brundage. Other class judges included Johnny Seitzinger and Gordon Crosland.

“We are happy with the turnout despite the chance of rain. It is amazing how so many people restored and worked on their vehicles to present so many exquisite and classy cars and trucks,” says Dave Reynolds, the director of the McCloud River Music Concert Series, who was the Master of Ceremonies for the car show.
