SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – On the early morning of Wednesday, April 16, 2025, officers with the Weed Police Department (WPD) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. During the course of the stop, WPD’s K9 Drax was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle.
K9 Drax alerted positively, indicating the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a significant quantity of cocaine, estimated to be approximately 170 pounds (or 77 kilograms).
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and subsequently booked into the Siskiyou County Jail. The driver faces multiple felony charges for violations of the California Health and Safety Code, including:
- 11352(a) H&S:ย Transportation, importation into the state, sale, furnishing, administration, or giving away of controlled substances.
- 11351.5(a) H&S:ย Possession for sale of cocaine base.
- 11350(a) H&S:ย Possession of a controlled substance.
