IN THE MATTER OF THE PETITION OF JAY MARTIN TO HAVE THE STANDING OF SISKIYOU NEWS ASCERTAINED AND ESTABLISHED AS A NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION

JUDGMENT ASCERTAINING AND ESTABLISHING SISKIYOU NEWS AS ONE OF GENERAL CIRCULATION
(Gov. Code §6023)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 6, 2025, the Superior Court of California, County of Siskiyou, in Department 2, heard the verified petition of Jay Martin to have the standing of the Siskiyou News ascertained and established as a newspaper of general circulation, as defined in Section 6000 of the Government Code. The petitioner, Jay Martin, was present in court and represented by his attorney, Martin F. Andreas (CSB: 164852, 510 Fourth Street, Yreka, CA 96097, Phone: (530) 842-1621). There was no opposition.

Evidence, both oral and documentary, was introduced on behalf of the petitioner, and the matter was submitted for decision. Upon proof made to the satisfaction of the court, the court finds as follows:

1. The substance of the petition and notice of intention of the petitioner to apply to the court on a named day for an order declaring the newspaper to be a newspaper of general circulation was duly published pursuant to Section 6062 of the Government Code, and proof of such publication was presented.
2. The Siskiyou News is a newspaper of local news and intelligence of a general character in the City of Etna and County of Siskiyou, California.
3. The petitioning newspaper has a bona fide subscription list of paying subscribers, numbering over one hundred thirty in the county.
4. For more than one year preceding the filing of the petition, the petitioning newspaper has been established under the name of Siskiyou News, has been printed and published at regular intervals in Siskiyou County.
5. During the whole of such one-year period, the work of producing the petitioning newspaper, that is the writing and printing, has been performed in Etna and Siskiyou County; the newspaper has been issued from the same city and county where it is printed and sold; it has been both printed and published in the city and county; and it has been published as a weekly newspaper on each Tuesday, having an average weekly circulation of four hundred.

WHEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, ADJUDICATED, AND DECREED that the Siskiyou News is a newspaper of general circulation as defined in Section 6000 of the Government Code, for the City of Etna and the County of Siskiyou, California.
