It has been a while, several years in fact, since Siskiyou audiences have been treated to a Jacek Mysinski piano concert. Therefore, The Red Scarf Society for the Performing Arts is truly delighted to welcome him back for a solo performance at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at St. Mark’s Preservation Square, 300 Lane Street, Yreka. Doors open at 12:30, Concert at 1:00 PM. Jacek’s program will include works by Chopin, Debussy, Schumann, Szymanowski, Tchaikovsky, and Desyatnikov.
Jacek was born in Warsaw, Poland and hailed from a family of musical traditions spanning generations. He is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music and he has won prestigious awards and scholarships including the Vladimir Horowitz and J.S. & B.P. Johnson scholarships, the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Frederic Chopin Society Artistic Achievement Scholarships, and the Grand Prixs at the Frederic Chopin Competition, and the Polish National Competition.
He has been acclaimed internationally for his imaginative, original and communicative interpretations.
His performances have been praised as “robust and captivating”. He has performed in engagements and numerous performances throughout Poland, USA, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore and China. He has collaborated with many accomplished artists and organizations, including the Vail Dance Festival, ABT Across America Tour, Lincoln Center’s BAAND Together Festival, The Mark Morris Dance Group, Sarasota Ballet Orchestra, among others. Besides being a teacher, composer and creative project collaborator, he is currently a pianist with the American Ballet Theater, New York City.
