April 24, 1967 – December 31, 2024
Bruce Anthony Duncan, age 57, of Edgewood, California, passed away suddenly at his home on December 31, 2024. Born in Yreka, California on April 24, 1967, Bruce was a passionate and vibrant soul whose interests spanned across hobbies, fandoms, and a deep love for family.
Bruce’s professional journey began at the Calico Rock and Gift Shop in the ghost town of Calico, California, where he started his working career. It was there that he honed his skills in customer service, developing a deep appreciation for working with people and learning the value of community connection. His early years at Calico set the foundation for his later entrepreneurial ventures and his lifelong commitment to fostering relationships with those he met.
Bruce will be remembered as an avid model train enthusiast, whose meticulous attention to detail brought his miniature worlds to life. Bruce was the proud owner of Golden West Hobbies in Edgewood, where he shared his love for model trains with other model train enthusiasts. He was also a die-hard Star Trek fan, forever captivated by the cosmos and its endless possibilities. His love for all things Disney, especially his fondness for Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck, was a defining part of his joyful spirit. Whether it was collecting memorabilia or immersing himself in the stories and magic, Bruce was a true aficionado who found wonder in the things that brought him happiness.
Bruce is survived by his loving mother, Darlene L. Duncan (Barber), his brother, Byran (wife Nancy) Duncan, his niece, Mary MacNaughton, and his great-nieces, Claire and Anna. Bruce was preceded in death by his father William Byran Duncan (1928-2016) and his sister Mary (1956). His family, as well as all those who knew him, will miss his gentle nature, sharp wit, and enthusiasm for life.
