Join us for a profound artistic exploration of peace through the works of justice-impacted artists and their families. The Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, January 12th, with doors opening at 1:30 PM and the main event beginning at 2:00 PM.
Featured Artists
The exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of artists whose personal journeys and experiences with the justice system inform their powerful works:
- Bea Duran – A celebrated Mt. Shasta artist and author, Duran will provide an intimate docent tour of the exhibition, sharing personal stories about her justice-impacted family, including experiences with her two brothers and sister. As a three-time Best of Show award winner, Duran’s masterful portrayals of California’s natural beauty showcase her exceptional artistic talent.
- Harold “Bear” Cubbedge – Founder of Criminals Anonymous and accomplished artist from the Portland area, Cubbedge brings a unique perspective to the exhibition through his work.
- Allyson Seelinger – A glass artist whose work is informed by her experiences as a justice-impacted family member, Seelinger contributes her distinctive artistic vision to the exhibition.
- Timothy Morris – A Medford, Oregon-based jewelry creator who has overcome the challenges of traumatic brain injury and incarceration to pursue his artistic passion.
Special MLK-Gandhi Community Gathering
Join us for our second annual Community Sharing Circle and Ceremony on Monday, January 20th at 2:00 PM. This powerful event provides every participant with the opportunity to contribute their voice to the conversation. The ceremony will be followed by a dessert potluck – attendees are invited to bring low-sugar desserts and snacks to share.
