SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. — A Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a head-on collision Monday afternoon, according to a statement from the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on December 9th at approximately 2:15 p.m. on County Road A-12. According to authorities, an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with the deputy’s patrol vehicle.
Both the deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to Fairchild Medical Center for evaluation. Officials report that the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.
Local citizens and Lake Shastina Police Officers stopped to provide assistance at the scene. Emergency medical services also responded to the incident.
The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation. Additional details about the cause of the crash are pending.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to all those who helped at the scene, praising the swift response of both civilians and emergency personnel.
