DORRIS, CA โ In a joint operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies across three states, the second suspect in last Friday’s deadly shooting in Redding was apprehended early Tuesday morning. Andrew Greer-Herrera, 19, of Lookout, CA, was arrested without incident near Dorris, bringing a tense five-day manhunt to a close.
The arrest stems from a tragic incident that unfolded in Redding on Friday, October 4th, where five residents were shot. Isaiah Jacob Stanley, 22, and Winfred Avant Jr., 30, lost their lives in the attack, while three others were hospitalized with injuries.
The first suspect, 18-year-old Trevon Evanoff of Redding, was located and arrested in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday, October 6th. Following Evanoff’s arrest, law enforcement intensified their search for Greer-Herrera, focusing on eastern Siskiyou County.
According to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assisted Redding Police in serving multiple search warrants throughout the weekend. By Tuesday, their efforts paid off when investigators pinpointed Greer-Herrera’s location in the Pleasant Valley Highlands area above Dorris.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Special Response Team, equivalent to a SWAT unit, was deployed to make the arrest. Despite the high-stakes nature of the operation, authorities reported that Greer-Herrera was taken into custody without any further violence.
Redding Police Captain Brian Cole in a FB post expressed gratitude for the widespread assistance.
Captain Cole specifically acknowledged the contributions of twelve agencies that played crucial roles in the investigation and arrests:

- Reno Police Department
- Oregon State Police
