Red Scarf Society for the Performing Arts bids farewell to summer and gladly ushers in Fall with a concert by the Alias Brass Quintet on Saturday, October 5th, 7:00 PM, at the Yreka High School Performing Arts Center, 431 Knapp Street, Yreka.
Described as “the only name for music innovation”, the Alias Brass Company, founded in 2013, are a collaboration of five uniquely talented artists and educators from across the nation. The Alias Brass Company’s performances are comprised of standards and original compositions, along with concepts that blend virtuosic musicianship with a high level of entertainment. From Baroque and Classical, to Jazz and Pop, the Alias Brass Company’s shows are “a sure-fire hit; chamber music of the future with something for everyone!”
This unique group demonstrates its artistic range with an array of different shows that take audiences on an emotional journey by combining diverse elements of classical music, modern pop-culture, and all things in between to create an experience that is both engaging and exciting. Receiving critical acclaim for being captivating, diverse, and innovative, Alias Brass continues to dazzle audiences across North and South America.

Members of the Alias Brass Company are also true champions of music education dedicated to inspiring the next generation through wide-reaching and relevant workshops for young audiences. Alias is active throughout the school year providing clinics, master classes, and demonstrations to young musicians and non-musicians alike, focusing on innovation, creativity, technique, and expression through music.
Alias Brass will be playing three selections by Kevin McKee. Kevin was born and raised in Yreka. He began playing the trumpet in grade school at the urging of his father, who was the high school music teach. He went on earn a BM from Sacramento State and a MM from the University of Maryland.
Kevin has been composing music for 10 years and has completed 14 pieces of music. His music has been performed on every non-ice covered continent and be heard on over 40 recording. In addition to composing, He is an active trumpet performer in the Washington DC area and has been second trumpet in the Britt Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, since 2009. Kevin also enjoys teaching at the International School of Music and at the Washington DC Youth Orchestra Program in addition to his private studio.
Tickets are $30 at the outlets; $35 at the door and $5 students. They are available in Yreka at Nature’s Kitchen, Liberty Arts and Jupiter Salon; Soul Connections in Mt. Shasta and Etna Hardware and Sporting Goods.
