Mount Shasta, Cali., August 26, 2024 — The Shasta-Trinity National Forest is restricting parking in the Upper Ski Bowl Parking Lot in the Panther Meadows area on Mount Shasta to begin on August 27, 2024. Parking in this area is prohibited from 12:00 am to 6:00 am.
Camping is available at the Panther Meadow Campground. Overnight parking is available at the Lower Ski Bowl Parking lot for up to 3 nights and at the South Gate Trailhead parking area for up to 7 nights.
Panther Meadows is a popular site and sacred to many local Native American nations. This prohibition is in place to prevent overnight camping in the lot to protect the resources and sensitive species of Panther Meadows.
