The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has approved funding for a crucial road rehabilitation project in Siskiyou County. The Montague Capital Preventive Maintenance (CAPM) project, set to improve a section of State Route 3 near Yreka, has been allocated $1.64 million from Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
This pavement rehabilitation initiative will cover a stretch of highway from 0.6 mile north of Juniper Drive to 0.2 mile north of North 5th Street. The project aims to enhance road conditions and safety for local residents and travelers alike.
As part of a larger $1.8 billion statewide transportation improvement package, the Montague CAPM project reflects California’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and upgrading its critical infrastructure. This investment not only promises smoother rides for motorists but also contributes to the local economy by creating jobs and stimulating growth in the region.
While specific project timelines have not been announced, residents of Yreka and Montague and regular users of State Route 3 can look forward to improved road conditions in the near future, one road at a time.
