How Governor Newsom’s Gas Price Plan Could Benefit Siskiyou County Residents

In a move that could bring relief to drivers across California, Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a new plan aimed at preventing gas price spikes and saving money for consumers at the pump. For residents of Siskiyou County, this initiative could translate into more stable gas prices and potential savings in an area where personal vehicles are often a necessity.

Price spikes are profit spikes
●  Gas price spikes are largely driven by refineries going offline without adequate plans for backfilling supply. Last year alone it cost Californians at the pump upwards of $1 billion.

Governor Newsom’s proposal centers around requiring petroleum refiners to maintain minimum fuel reserves. This first-in-the-nation approach is designed to prevent supply shortages that often lead to price hikes. For Siskiyou County, where gas prices can be volatile due to its rural location, this stability could be particularly beneficial.

  • What a bunch of bull. All Newscum does is waste taxpayer dollars, i.e., $200,000 he paid a photographer to take photos of him picking up garbage at homeless camps. Billions of dollars spent spent supposedly trying to solve the homeless crisis. Billions of dollars on a train to nowhere. A satellite to track where methane gas is coming from…..another attack on ranchers and dairy farmers? This man and his democratic legislators are enemies of the state!
