Cowgirls and Cowboys win nearly $16,000 in 2024 Mechanics Bank – Pape Machinery Rodeo Shootout

Fowle and Hubbard win Siskiyou Saddlecow 2024

YREKA – The 2024 Mechanics Bank Shootout presented by Pape Machinery Merrill paid tribute to breast cancer awareness in the newly renovated Mechanics Bank grandstand arena. The rodeo format that pays each winner $1000.00 with a limit of 10 entries per event continues to provide a snappy, entertaining event organized by the 10th DAA Rodeo Committee headed by chairperson Wendy Johnson.

Mutton Busting started off the rodeo with Etna’s Blanch Brown taking home the Finley Farms buckle with an 88-point ride. Curry Cash and Payden Cash were the first duo to each win the guaranteed $1000.00 with a victory in the Freitas Livestock/Cornerstone Properties Ribbon Roping with Pistol and Bam Bray taking home second money. Siskiyou Credit Union Barrel Racing fans watched Maisie Heffernan collect $1000 and Hayden Hansen took home the check for 2nd. Fawaz Farming Ranch Broncs were next in the arena and Dylan Sreniawski took home the $1000 prize.

Hunt Accounting/California Outdoor Properties Team Roping was won by Keith Johnson and Zach Salvestro with Pistol and Colt Bray taking the second-place pot. Maisie Heffernan was having herself a night and won the Clarity Medical Spa Breakaway roping and the Double H Ranch Businessman’s Calf Dressing was won by the team from L&S, each team member received a Outlaw Saddles and Silver belt buckle. Next up was the crowd favorite Siskiyou Saddle Cow Championships sponsored by Suburban Propane and Mt Shasta Title & Escrow – Rider Kyle Fowle and Hazer Noah Hubbard won the event and Klayton Rizzardo and Brody Zediker got the second-place payout. In the Siskiyou Realty Group Bull Riding the bulls stole the show and left the cowboys wallowing in Mechanics Bank rodeo arena.

Colby Camacho provided the stock, Steve Smart announced the fast paced event, Dominic Giorgi clowned around, and rodeo secretary Jolie Thurston compiled the numbers and paid out the pot of cash that totaled nearly $16,000.00.
