During a routine traffic stop on Interstate 5 near Weed, California, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s deputies made a significant drug bust on Monday, July 15th. The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,333 pounds of marijuana and the arrest of two individuals.
The incident unfolded when a deputy pulled over a vehicle for a standard check. Upon inspection, 39 bags of marijuana were discovered in the vehicle, totaling over 1,300 pounds. The occupants, Joseph Genzoli, 22, and Matthew Fortezzo, 32, initially claimed they were legally transporting the substance. However, they failed to produce any valid documentation or licenses required for the legal transportation of marijuana.
Consequently, both Genzoli and Fortezzo were taken into custody. They now face charges of illegal possession of marijuana and transportation of marijuana for sale.
