Siskiyou County, CA – In a recent press release, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office shed light on the tireless efforts of local law enforcement agencies in their ongoing battle against crime. The release, which covered arrests made between March 31, 2024, and April 8, 2024, showcased the dedication and hard work of the county’s brave men and women in uniform.
During this nine-day period, a total of 53 individuals were arrested and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail. These arrests were the result of the combined efforts of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, the Yreka Police Department, the Weed Police Department, the Mt. Shasta Police Department, the California Highway Patrol, and other local agencies.
The charges ranged from minor offenses, such as disorderly conduct and public intoxication, to more serious crimes, including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and drug trafficking. The most common charges were failure to appear in court (11 counts), possession of controlled substances (7 counts), and driving under the influence (6 counts).
Notably, several arrests involved substantial bail amounts, indicating the severity of the alleged crimes. In one case, an individual faced a bail of $142,000 for failing to appear on felony charges and violating parole. Another arrestee was charged with robbery and held on a $100,000 bond.
