YREKA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities in Siskiyou County were busy making multiple arrests over the past 7 days for alleged offenses ranging from arson to assault.
The county sheriff’s office said Friday 51 people were booked from Feb. 4 to Feb. 13 into the county jail. The alleged crimes varied widely from disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol to corporal injury of a spouse and kidnapping.
The most serious offenses stemmed from arrests made by the Yreka Police Department, according to booking records. These included the Feb. 6 arrest of Daniel Lee Ferner, 42, on charges of sodomy by force and forcible oral copulation. Bail was set at $100,000.
On Feb. 7, Julianna Gail Cordova, 21, was arrested by CalFire on suspicion of committing multiple counts of arson, including burning forest land. Bail was also set at $100,000 in her case.
Among other top arrests, sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeremy Deecharles McKinney, 46 on Feb. 9 for alleged infliction of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. His bail was set at $50,000.
Two days later, the California Highway Patrol arrested a man from Mount Shasta for suspicion of kidnapping and infliction of corporal injury. Jonathan Michael Doyle, 55, also faces possible battery and false imprisonment charges. Bail was set at $100,000.
