SISKIYOU COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE: Arrest Report For January 9th thru January 15th, 2024

The following Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department ARREST, BOOKINGS Report Contains:
individuals who are innocent, until the State proves them guilty.
Please respect their fundamental human and legal rights.

In total, there were 30 arrests made from January 9th to January 15th.

Failure to Appear Warrants Top Offenses

One telling statistic is that nearly 60% of arrests were made for outstanding Failure to Appear warrants. This indicates many suspects did not comply with court orders to resolve alleged previous offenses. Some individuals were brought in on multiple FTA warrants accumulating over time. This points to a need for better accountability and rehabilitation programs to prevent repeat offenses.

Increasing Re-Offenses a Cause for Concern

In several cases the same suspects had new charges along with probation/parole violations and outstanding warrants. For example, one woman was re-arrested twice in three days for allegedly violating domestic violence protective orders. Another man was charged with intoxication just two days after release for the same offense. These re-offenses underscore the need to address underlying issues like mental health, addiction and difficult socioeconomic backgrounds that can trigger illegal behaviors.
