This article is pure, unmitigated, politically correct crap. All of us who live in this area know that HUGE illegal pot grows were, and will continue to happen, on these Hmong and Chinese properties. There are a lot of illegal weapons, fertilizer dumps that make many areas toxic waste cleanup sites that will be left behind at some point… leaving the County to clean it up.
Playing the race card is outrageous, and printing this article while DELIBERATELY leaving out these facts makesit clear why this paper struggles to exist. How about exercising some journalistic integrity and cover all of the facts and issues residents face here as well as law enforcement.
In addition, these grows are ILLEGAL. These HMONG and Chinese families could grow in counties that allow grows, get the licenses necessary, and meet all state laws and regulations pertinent to this industry. They moved here to grow illegally and with their growing population, crime grows as well. Growing pot in California is legal, but only when done legally.
