I’ve been a Jimmy Buffett fan for many years, I’ve seen him perform!
a couple of times
One of his songs was, “Why Don’t We Get Drunk and Screw?”
A few years ago I wrote a little parody of that song. Below is the link, from my website.
WHY DON’T WE GET DRUNK?
With Apologies to Jimmy Buffett
Why don’t we get drunk, and snooze?
Although that’s not exactly
What we used to do
The years have passed so quickly
And age has taken its due
Why don’t we get drunk and snooze?
Why don’t we go out on a date?
To prove to each other
That we can stay out late
Although I might be eighty
And you are seventy-eight
Why don’t we go out on a date?
Why don’t we go out on the town?
Until the early morning,
Our sorrows for to drown
We can’t predict the ending
But do we really care?
Why don’t we go out on the town?
Why don’t we take a little chance?
The band has started groovin’
It’s never too late to dance
We just have to pace ourselves
So we don’t peak out too soon
Why don’t we take a little chance?
Why don’t we jump into the bed?
Just the two of us, dear
While we’re still ahead
Check out each other’s bodies
Like we used to do
Why don’t we jump into the bed?
Why don’t we get drunk, and snooze?
Although that’s not exactly
What we used to do,
The years have passed so quickly
And age has taken its due
Why don’t we get drunk and snooze?
