
YREKA- The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors is happy to announce a Lifetime Pass will be presented to Stan Sears of Montague during opening ceremonies at the 2023 Siskiyou Golden Fair.
Stan, a Siskiyou County native, has been actively involved in our agricultural community and the Siskiyou Golden Fair his whole life as an exhibitor and supporter. After graduating from Yreka High School in 1961, Stan attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and competed on the livestock judging team. In 1969 he married Libby Dudley from Scott Valley and they were soon blessed with two children; Tiffany and Carrick.
Stan has been a long-time supporter of the fair awards program, the Siskiyou Golden Jackpot, serves as a ring man and supporter of the 10th DAA Junior Livestock Auction. In the show ring, Stan has been an exhibitor for more than 50 years in the beef showring and pen cattle barn.
In the community, Stan is active in the Cattlemen’s association and was the 50th Siskiyou County Cattleman of the year. Stan is also a member of the Grenada Berean Church.
Organizations like the Siskiyou Golden Fair thrive because of community minded individuals that get involved for the good of all and Stan Sears has displayed his love of agriculture and the fair honorably. “It takes the whole community to make our fairground thrive year-round,” stated CEO, Cliff Munson, “Stan is a great example of commitment to our fair and the youth that are our future agriculturalists and this award is a simple token to express our appreciation of a job well done.”
