It feels SO GOOD to be back in the swing of things serving our appreciative community with healthy food! Our Pantry is open weekly on Wednesdays from 11 AM – 3 PM at 780 S. Davis Avenue in Weed. We are grateful for the recent acknowledgement and an award from the Yreka Host Lions Club for our service to the community!
With the arrival of warmer weather, we’ve also had the departure of some very dedicated, long standing volunteers. This leaves us on the lookout for others to join our volunteer team with a commitment and helpful attitude to assist with distributions on Wednesdays, back office data entry work, or driving our cool van.
If you, or someone you know, feels the call and has some available time, please give Denise a call at 530-408-6115 or email [email protected] for more details.
STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE BENEFITS SFA
One in ten Americans face hunger every day in America. This drive is one way you can help those in our community who need help. |
Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers in the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Donations made in the City of Weed will be directed to Siskiyou Food Assistance! To donate, just place a box full or can of unexpired non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on Saturday, May 13th. The carrier will do the rest. You can also personally bring your donation of unexpired non-perishables to the Weed Post Officebetween now and before noon on May 13th. The food is sorted, and delivered to us where it will be available for needy families. |
